Diagnostic Services
Sleep Studies
 We
have created a state-of-the-art sleep studies facility for
overnight Polysomnography (PSG) studies at The Somerset
West Sleep Centre. Our in-house technologists observe
and analyse these studies that provides information on Brain
Activity, Respiratory Function, Muscle Function and a variety
of other variables that are essential for the diagnosis
of the more complex sleep disorders.
PSG is particularly useful for the diagnosis of Obstructive
Sleep Apnoea, Narcolepsy, Parasomnias, Restless Legs Syndrome
and Neurological Disorders such
as Epilepsy and Parkinson’s
Disease.
Neurophysiology Studies
The Somerset West Sleep Centre
provides a comprehensive number of investigations for neurological
disorders such as Epilepsy and Neuromuscular Disorders including:
- Routine Electro-encephalography (EEG)
- Spinal (lumbar) puncture. For diagnosis, for drainage
of spinal fluid or for therapeutic indications
- 8 Hour ambulatory EEG monitoring (Holter)
- Electromyography (EMG)
- Long Term EEG Monitoring and,
- Nerve Conduction Studies
- Nocturnal epilepsy Monitoring
Cardio-Respiratory Diagnostic Services
We provide access to a the full range of cardio-respiratory
diagnostic services including stress tests, echocardiograms
and respiratory function testing. Please for information
