Chris obtained his medical degree from the University of Orange Free State in 1986. He subsequently trained as a specialist psychiatrist and in 1997 received a double qualification in psychiatry the M.Med and the Fellowship of the College of Medicine (FCPsych).

After a short stint in private practice in Bloemfontein, Chris headed back to his roots and set up in Somerset West in 2001. Over the past few years Chris has been actively involved in clinical research, participating in more than 30 clinical research projects.

In addition, Chris has published in the peer reviewed scientific literature and maintains strong links with the academic department of psychiatry at Tygerberg Hospital.
